At Tech South, students are trained to become data scientists and application developers using JavaScript. There are also two programs called Code Immersion, and DevOps and Continuous Integration.
The Data Science Program at Tech Talent South teaches students how to use Python, a programming language, to analyze data. This skill will boost your resume when it’s time to get a job. You will also learn the role of machine learning, data visualization, and other useful methodologies in data science.
The program runs for just four weeks and requires a six-hour weekly commitment. The program costs $2,200 and is available onsite and online.
JavaScript is called the programming language of the web because it has vast applications. Knowing how to use JavaScript to create applications is a key requirement for every software engineer. The JavaScript Application Development program teaches you the fundamentals of APIs, Redux, AJAX, Firebase, ES6, and React.
This part-time program costs about $1,850 and runs for 10 weeks. Keep in mind that this course is only available for students in Wilmington and Asheville.
The code immersion class is similar to the JavaScript development program. However, it also involves full stack development through object oriented programming by learning C#, Java, and Ruby.
Code Immersion is the only program that is available both full and part-time at the bootcamp. It covers both front end and backend development, and it is not limited to web applications.
This program runs for 10 weeks, and the tuition cost is $4,750.
This is the most expensive program at Tech Talent South and it is aimed at people who already know how to develop code. Think of it as an advanced bootcamp program that allows you to get hands-on training with the latest industry technology. It also gives you a taste of product management because you experience the entire life cycle of projects.
The full-time course lasts for 12 weeks and students pay $13,500 for the experience.
The application process for Tech Talent South is easy, but you will need to complete a series of tests to get admitted. Since the bootcamp is part of a recruitment agency, it admits only the most dedicated students to satisfy its hiring partners. You don’t need previous tech experience to apply, but you should prepare ahead of the interview.
You can do the application online on the official TTS website. There is an online form open to anyone who wants to apply. You will have to fill in your personal details and other requested details. Shortly after you submit the application, you will be invited for a chat with an advisor. The chat will last for about 20 minutes, and it will give the advisor an opportunity to know more about you.
If the admissions team is satisfied with your conversation during the interview, you will be admitted. Following the interview, the acceptance letter should not take too long to arrive.
The 20-minute interview is a dialogue section. You and the advisor will discuss your goals, passions, and technical skills. You will be given a brief technical test which gives the advisor an idea of how much knowledge you have in the field.
The interview also gives you a chance to tell the admissions team why they should admit you. You will also be asked to give feedback on the website and the entire admissions experience.
The tuition varies from course to course, but it falls within the $1,850 and $13,500 range. You can pay in installments, or apply for scholarships if you cannot afford upfront payments.
TTS does not have an income share agreement. However, students can make payments in monthly installments. You will pay some on enrollment and pay the rest in smaller installments.
Upfront payment comes with discounts that can range from 10 to 20 percent, depending on the course. These discounts only apply if you make payment before classes start. If you pay afterward or use the installment option, you’re not eligible for a discount.
While TTS isn’t currently in partnership with any loan financing firms, students can apply for private loans from lenders like Skills Fund and Climb Credit. Repayment usually starts after students start working.
If you are a veteran, you can apply for the Tech Talent South’s Diversity & Veteran Scholarship. Women in tech may also be eligible for partial to full discounts. Read the eligibility criterion on the website first before applying.
Most people who attend bootcamps do it as the first step to a lifelong career in tech. It’s not just about acquiring knowledge, it’s about starting or advancing your career. This is what makes Tech Talent South unique. It doubles as a training and recruitment agency. So, your chances of getting a great job will be high even if there is no job guarantee.
The bootcamp partners with hiring companies around the globe. Fresh graduates may also apply for the Graduate Accelerator Program for further opportunities.

The audacious training supersedes tradition education, which works best for me as a non-traditional student 60 plus. My take away from the 8-week training is that I am in the “know” on the express high-way of technology. Before attending TTS training, it was just a dream, now it is a reality, and it has allowed me to step up my own game as it relates to my own Content Building and Branding Business. Therefore, the TTS training polished my ability to have confidence in identifying my own leadership qualities when speaking with clients, networking, and engaging in technology conversations. I am still a work in progress. Nonetheless, I have obtained CSS HTML and UX Design skills and I continue to perfect the concepts in ways that I amaze myself.

I am currently in the code immersion class in New Orleans and the class is very helpful so far with being introduced to the tech community. Our instructor Carlos is very knowledgeable and Mary Lachapelle is amazing with community outreach and networking. So glad I found Tech Talent South to start my tech career!

I know my title reads Java boot camp but we didn’t just focus on Java. We learned to become full-stack developers. I started with no coding experience in my previous careers. I did allot of technical jobs. I jumped into this boot camp with The hopes of getting a great job right our of the boot camp. However, while doing the first day introductions, there were allot of people there with a few boot camps under their belts. This made me a bit nervous seeing as this was my first one. I did everything I could to absorb as much as my brain could possibly handle. I impressed my instructor with my dedication. Alas this wasn’t enough to land me an actual job. I was taught to use HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and Thymeleaf to make my apps and websites pretty. I was taught to use Spring Boot for Java as back-end programming. I learned how to create a Github profile and upload my Java projects. I was given the ability to create my own website. I fought to go to class everyday to learn for 3 months. It was an in person class from 8am-5pm. We all had to put our primary jobs on hold or cut back on the hours to be in the class. This is a major need to know before jumping into any boot camp. Have a savings that can hold you up for 3 months or at least a support system that can have you work some hours without drowning in debt. This may seem ridiculous or an outlandish tip. But I speak from experience, I no longer have a vehicle due to my lack of hours and lack of employment for 3 months. I had been struggling before the class. I did look at this class as a bright light to all the over whelming debt I had been consumed by. Realistically, some financial stability is key to be able to join any boot camp. Good luck.
And may the odds be ever in your Favor.

We were lucky to have such a dedicated staff and very attentive instructor. You can feel the passion he has for programming and learning. With this course, I wanted to grow my backend skills and learning and the focus on Java/Spring Boot was exactly what I needed.

Tech Talent South in New Orleans, LA was a perfect fit for my needs. Other programs in the city were just not an option due to the scheduling demands, and also tuition cost. I was working my regular full time job while attending, so having the option to attend the part time code immersion program was great. The instructor was an actual developer, and not just a teacher, so his real world insight was awesome. The instructor was very approachable, available, and eager to help. You could tell he really wanted you to understand before moving forward, instead of just blasting through the material. Probably the best aspect of this particular school, in New Orleans specifically was the local community development leader, Mary. She puts together tours of local tech companies, schedules guest speakers before class, and puts together events around town. These tours, speakers, and events were fantastic especially being that I am making a transition into tech from a completely different industry. The people I’ve met, and the advice that I received has been tremendous! This alone is worth attending the school. As far as the curriculum goes, I would only say that I would like to see the part time program be extended. It was an 8 week course, which I’m fine with, but given that class was only twice a week, I feel like if it was longer, that would give more time to dive into different subjects a little deeper. For anyone looking to attend their part time program, I would recommend finding your favorite resource to go in tandem with what you are covering in class. You do have homework while going through, which is helpful, but for me it helped to solidify things hearing the same things said a different way. Like all things in life, nothing is a proverbial golden ticket. Your success will ultimately come down to the work that you put in. There is no job guarantee after graduation. However, this shouldn’t hinder you, because the industry does hold bootcamp graduates in high esteem, because you come out of it with direct experience in the things that you will work with on the job. Do the work, attend the events, and network, and you will be successful. Like Grant Cardone says, “The only limit to the amount of success you have is the amount of action you take.” This program has been fantastic in my opinion I definitely recommend it to anyone looking into it in the New Orleans area.
