What Can You Learn at Metis?

The coding bootcamp offers a selection of courses in data science and analysis that are taught live online. If you are a beginner, Metis offers several prep courses that will help you get ready for your full-time program. If you are interested in a short-term program, Metis also has a number of classes in specific areas of data science that may interest you. These two-week courses also take place online and cover topics such as Linear Regression and Web Scraping, Machine Learning Classification, and Exploratory Data Analysis. Below are the long-term programs offered by Metis, which range from six weeks to 14 weeks.

Data Analytics

This is a six-week, full-time data analytics bootcamp taught by experts. The curriculum covers data programming languages like Python and SQL, as well as concepts like linear regression and web scraping. Students will also complete three projects throughout the course. Unlike other bootcamps, Metis also organizes a dedicated career week, which consists of workshops and mock interviews for students at the end of their program. In these workshops, you will work with a career adviser to improve your resume and networking skills. This bootcamp also gives graduates access to a directory of potential employers. Companies can browse students’ credentials to see if any recent Metis grads would fit in with their team. This can be a huge relief for students who would otherwise have to spend weeks searching for a job.

Data Science

This 10-week program features five projects that will prepare you for your data science career. These projects will be compiled into a portfolio that students can show to potential employers during career week at the end of their program. The course covers data science basics like SQL, Python, and linear regression. Then, students will learn how to apply these techniques to analyze a business’s performance, and will also get into machine learning and natural language processing. As with the Data Analytics course above, this one also ends with a career week featuring workshops and mock interviews.

Data Science & Engineering

Metis’s data science and engineering course will leave you prepared for a career in data engineering in just 10 weeks. Through live online classes, you will learn data analysis, data engineering, and supervised and unsupervised machine learning. As part of the course, you will also complete a series of world-class data science projects that you will compile into a portfolio to use during your job search.

Data Science & Machine Learning

In this 14-week course, you will study data analysis, linear regression, machine learning, and deep learning fundamentals. These topics will give you the foundation you need to launch a career as a machine learning engineer, data scientist, or software engineer. In addition to the competitive curriculum followed in this course, you will also participate in job search tutorials, workshops, and will attend a guest speaker series. Together, these resources will increase your chances of finding a job soon after graduation.

Bootcamp Prep

Metis offers three bootcamp prep courses. The Introduction to Data Science and Beginner Python & Math for Data Science Courses are offered live online on a part-time basis and cost $499. These six-week beginner classes are ideal if you want to learn the basics of Python and Python libraries, plus brush up on the math you’ll need for data analysis. In the Introduction to Data Science course, you’ll also cover the basics of data acquisition, cleaning, and visualization. The third prep course offered is Metis’s free Admission Prep class. This course is self-paced, and covers the math you’ll need for data analysis, as well as Python basics.

Admissions: How Do You Get Accepted to Metis?

Metis is quite selective in its admission process, and the competition for the limited number of seats is high.
